“Through the isle went hungrily Vithir’s hounds.”
Freki’s Bite finally has a sheath! It features Mammen style tooling from the Cammin casket and rune stones and the Viking kenning above written in the Elder Runes; the colors are taken from ancient rune stones and then antiqued and sealed; and it is adorned with brass fittings featuring repousséd bordering.
The seax is 16″ overall with a 10-1/2″ blade and 1/4″ thick. This was hand forged from 5160 recovered leaf spring with forge scale and it’s namesake chiseled in along with runic symbols. It also features my “Celtic” notch. The handle is comprised of a brass bolster with Nordic file work design, rosewood with a carved complimentary Mammen design also from the Cammin casket, brass and leather spacers, and antler with a carved Norse design on the crown.
